This particular expansion pack seems to focus more on children and teens, which is something the Sims 3 sort of overlooked, not just in this particular Sim game, but every game prior to that. Even the Sims 2 did not focus too much on children and teens. They were sort of just there, fun to look at, but not very fun to interact with or even bother with until they became old enough to go to college.
Now major events occur and follow your Sims around throughout their life. Children can have imaginary friends, teens can pull pranks and throw parties.
Fear not though, adult Sims are not ignored, as they too will have some new and refreshing game play for you to toy with, such as having a midlife crisis.

Teens will be able to throw eggs at homes and plant stink bombs.
All in all things look interesting and fun in Generations. This is probably going to be one of the stranger expansion packs as it is different from anything else we have seen come from The Sims franchise. Personally though, I really miss weather.
