If you know me, than you already know that Halloween is my
holiday. Every year the house becomes a haunted horror, that everyone
talks about.
Putting together the best haunt in town though does not come easy, and in some cases it's not cheap...at all. Over the years I have frequented the same websites time and time again, and at times I am surprised at newer sites. On these sites I look for the best costumes, best prosthetics, props, and decorations. However when it comes to Halloween, I'm looking for everything and everything...
This site sells fancy jello molds and skeletons. It's excellent for making scary foods, and excellent for cool affordable props. http://www.skeleton-factory.com.
This site has an awesome collection of Halloween props, and has an amazing collection of haunted animotronics, masks, and probably the best collection of costumes I have ever seen in my life. http://thehorrordome.com.
http://hauntmasters.com sells movie props, such as masks from House of 1,000 Corpses. Here you can also find really neat costumes for a more affordable price.
At http://www.frightprops.com they sell a huge collection of scary props, from fog machines, to scary lighting, and noise makers. Their foam filled props are awesome, but need to be stored in a safe place afterward. Here at this site they even have do it yourself kits, which makes things even neater for creative folks like me.
And hey, who hasn't been dying to get their hands on an authentic metal Freddy glove? Here at http://www.thehalloweengroup.com you can purchase it for just $45.00. Pretty neat eh?
Why stop with just props though, during the entire month of October I seek out everything and anything Halloween. However there are way too many people who don't know about the history behind Halloween, so I figured I would include a link to it here at http://www.history.com/minisite.do?content_type=Minisite_Generic&content_type_id=713&display_order=1&mini_id=1076. This site includes everything about the history surrounding Halloween. It's a pretty good read, and honestly what is Halloween, without a history?
During the month of October I also enjoy reading ghost stories, as many as I can get my hands on, and here at the site I am about to include, you can read real life ghost stories told by other Internet users, not only that though, you can submit your own. http://www.yourghoststories.com.
Here at this site you can read some American folklore surrounding scary stories and myths such as Bloody Mary. http://www.americanfolklore.net/spooky-stories.html
Here at this site you can view haunted places, and hey, who knows, maybe there is a haunt in your local town that you are not even aware of. Take a look here at http://www.ghosthaunts.com.
At http://www.ghostresearch.org/ghostpics you can view photos of supposed ghosts and decide for yourself whether they are real or not. Not only that but you can also submit your own photos of ghosts caught on camera.
Where the is Halloween there is pumpkins, and here at http://www.pumpkincarving101.com they give tips on choosing the right pumpkin, to the life expectancy of one. At http://www.pumpkinmasters.com you can submit your photos of pumpkin carvings into contests. You may also take a peek at some excellent pumpkin carving skills. If you do a google image search with keywords best pumpkin carvings an entire slew of spectacular carvings will come up.
At http://www.hauntworld.com/haunted_house_directory.php you can find a list of the best haunted houses by searching under your state. This is a pretty sweet site to find all of your Halloween amusement parks, hay rides, and other Halloween events in your area.
This site here at http://www.craftown.com/hallow.htm has the best craft ideas for Halloween time. Make items such as tombstones, lollipop ghosts, and fabric pumpkins. This site is fun for parent and children, or excellent ideas for school teachers.
Halloween is filled with fun, and does not have to be subjected to just one night of fun. I begin my Halloween festivities on the 1st of October, and I don't stop until the 31st. There is something Halloween related to do every single day of the month.
When you order anything online do it early, better yet, do it now. Some sites are really slow shippers, and in the month of October, the rush gets gigantic and odds are they will be sold out of your item, or it will not be shipped in time. Better to shop online early than late.
