Recap of Wizards of Waverly Place, Season 1, Episode 3: I Almost Drowned in a Chocolate Fountain

Wizards Of Waverly Place is one of my more recent favorite shows to be aired on Disney. The show is about a family who has a pretty gnarly secret; their 3 children are magical wizards.

In, I Almost Drowned in a Chocolate Fountain, (season 1, episode 3) Alex is told she cannot go out on a date unless she passes her Spanish exam. Instead of studying though, Alex cheats the exam by using a Spanish speaking pocket elf. Pocket elves are itty little elves that live inside of odd golden egg shaped urns. Although the elves can be helpful, they can also create damage if they are fed chocolate.

When Alex's older brother finds out that Alex cheated on her exam using a pocket elf, he promises he won't tell their parents, but he makes it a point to let her know that he will get revenge on her. You see earlier on she ratted him and their little brother Max out for spraying their outside window with paint-balls.

Alex takes the threat lightly, and manages to go on her date...not without consequence of course.
Justin and Max manage to sneak into the restaurant to try and feed the pocket elf that she has in her purse, some chocolate.

Instead of the elf going all crazy though, he instead bites Alex, and the result of this sends Alex on a chocolate eating frenzy, and it is downright hilarious. I seriously did not think that they could come up with a scene more funny than the one that took place in the restaurant.

While Alex feasts her way through chocolate like a pig, the guy she was crushing on witnesses the whole thing.

Overall:

Without completely ruining this episode, I will say that it is by far one of the funniest episodes in the series so far. I have come across quite a few hilarious episodes, but none take the cake (chocolate?) quite like this one does. Selena Gomez, who plays Alex does a marvelous job in this particular episode, I was seriously laughing out loud, and not many Disney shows can do that.

I highly recommend this show, and this particular episode. It is fun and entertaining for young children, and adults alike.
