Secret Life of the American Teenager Season 2 Premiere Spoiler Alert

So last night was the long awaited return of Secret Life of the American Teenager.

For those of you whom haven't followed the show, it is about a teen girl named Amy who gets knocked up by another teenager named Ricky while away at band camp.

Amy hid the secret of her pregnancy through half the first season, and she even managed to bag a nice guy named Ben.

Ben is hopelessly in love with Amy, and he even asks her to marry him in season 1.

Season 2 starts off with an odd bang, where Amy is sitting down having a conversation with her mother about the baby, and how Amy automatically assumes her mom will not work so she can watch the baby, and Amy can continue school.

It was an odd beginning especially seeing that Amy was so dead set on being such a great mother to her child, yet season 2 sort of started off seeming like Amy wanted to just hand the baby over to her mother to care for it.

I guess this was a point to reference in the premier, because after seeing coming attractions for future episodes, it seems that the issue of adoption is going to come up-yet again.

I found that to be stupid, I mean using the same content and issues that occurred in season 1. I thought the adoption issue was put to rest in season 1, yet here it is again arriving in season 2.

Anyhow, the rest of the premiere is filled with fluff on Grace and Ricky, and Adrian. Nothing really remarkable happens. Fast forward to the end though, and you will see that Ben and Amy are about to go through with their err...teen wedding plans. (Yes I know; can it get any worse?)

Now just when you think the two are about to call off this ridiculous wedding, they instead go ahead with it and get married.

It's obvious though by the seasons coming attractions that the wedding was just to suck you in to watching the rest of the season. It seems (by the way they have edited the attractions), that Amy may have the hots for Ricky again. Ugh.

At any rate, I don't see this one making it to season 3, and if they do manage to grab a season 3 it will likely be the last. They are using the same material over and over again, and if they don't get out of this rut, it's to the dumps for Secret Life.
