I follow news on The Sims 3 religiously, and something passed me by
today that I was totally unaware of. I'm sure many of you were unaware
of it.
But hey, did you know that on November 17th The Sims 3 Holiday Collector's Editionwill be hitting shelves?
Well now yah know.
The only announcement's fans have heard were announcements on the
highly anticipated first expansion pack World Adventure, so when I saw
that the official Sims website was featuring a title called Sims 3
Holiday Collector's Edition, naturally I wanted to know more about it,
and what this new collector's edition was going to feature!
Would there be gobs of holiday goods included that original game
purchasers would not have access to? Would the game feature the freebie
goodies that the Sims Store already put up for free downloading? Or
would they include the holiday objects on the Sim Store for us to pay
for?
It is really anyone's guess on how EA will handle the demand for the
collectible holiday objects, but I can safely say this. Those of us who
already bought the game better have access to the holiday objects. In
fact those of us who already bought the game should righteously get free
access to the holiday objects.
More than likely EA will surprise us with the items included with the
Holiday Edition game, but placing them in the Sim Store as a freebie
download, like they have done with the harvest collection, and Halloween
collection.
What is Included?
The Sims 3 Holiday Collector's Edition will include the exact
same things that the very first collector's edition title included. A
plumbob USB Hard drive, a sports car download, theme music, and hints
and tips guide. The holiday edition of course will also include holiday
themed Sim objects.
It is being said that there will be 6 holiday themed objects, which is not much at all.
The holiday edition of course is also the game itself in its entirety.
For now fans of the game will just have to wait and see what the
objects will be. We were all hoping for a holiday stuff pack, but by the
looks of it we won't be getting a stuff pack anytime soon, at least not
while the Sims Store is up and running.
So should you buy the Holiday Edition of the game? I'd have to say no.
If you already own the game, the extras are not worth the price being
asked, which is by the way $69.95. Ouch!!!
