Summer time is practically my favorite season.
My hair changes with each season, and to be quite honest summer styles
are my favorite because they are the easiest, and most summer styles
never go out of style.
During summer months, where I am from, humidity takes a toll on my
hair. As awful as humidity for the hair is, it is really not that bad
because most styles for cute summer looks include hair being pulled
back, so humidity does not really become a huge problem.
Of course one simple easy to do timeless look is to pull your hair
back into a ponytail. You can pull hair up way high at the top of your
head and let the pony talk fall down contouring your face. You can pull
hair back into a mid high ponytail, or you can leave a low ponytail.
Creating other simple summer looks require nothing more than a brush,
and a hair tie. A high loosely pulled bun will keep hair off of your
face, and allow the air's breeze to cool you off on hotter days.
Another summer look that has yet to go out of style is simply going to
a nearby salon and having highlights added to your hair. This results
in sun kissed hair, and is an easy way to summerfy your look.
Adding
highlights can also be done at home, but to make 100% sure your results
are perfect and natural looking, you will definitely want to consider a
salon. Highlights don't usually come to more than $35.00, and a tip.
There are other ways you can spiff up your hair for the summer season.
I personally like adding flower rhinestone clips, or thin metal
headbands that include a metal flower pushed to the side. The flowers,
of course, are perfect for adding cute, effortless flair, and the
rhinestones will allow the sunshine to hit them, making your hair even
more glamorous and summer ready.
An all time favorite summer look that I sport from time to time is the
low tied pigtails. Even older women look fabulous with this style. In
order to allow the look to work though, do NOT pull the pigtails up
high. You will end up looking like a call girl. Let the pigtails fall
low to the sides like Jessica Simpson does from time to time. An off
centered part is also a nice way to wear the pigtails.
I personally like this style because it not only makes you look a few
years younger, but it also keeps hair out of my face on hot summer days.
Hair in the face can actually create acne, especially on more humid
days of summer.
French braids are also classical. They are elegant, neat, and once
again hair won't be left in your face.
You can add a rhinestone flower
clip to the side to finish off the look (that is if you like pizazz).
Finally you can buy a pair of barrette's to create the next summery
style. Any barrettes will do. It's your choice really. I tend to use
ones that are either flowers, or small metal butterflies.
Next you simply part your hair directly down the middle and take a
barrette and clip it into each side of your part. This lifts up hair and
adds the illusion of volume and layer, and will also keep hair out of
your face.
All in all, summer styles tend to be styles that require less effort; besides, who wants to sit inside spending hours working on their hair, when they could be outside soaking up the sun?
